Hi fred woodall; One of the local chains announced a special on computers due to Windows 98 coming out. The first 10 people at each store could get a pretty decent machine (w/o monitor) for $98 at each store. In addition, anybody could add a color monitor and color printer for another $98. Thus you could get a complete machine for only $196. While this was a special, I think this is clear evidence of the trend in ASPs. I stand by my earlier prediction. $300 for a complete machine with color monitor and laser printer within 3 years: exchange2000.com but maybe it will happen sooner than I thought. I believe that these kinds of prices will pretty much destroy the stock prices of all the box makers. -- Carl
