Stuart,
I dont do options. I probably should but I'm also new to trading.
With shares like VTSS I only tend to be on one side of the trade, in most cases Short. I trade the shares using SOES ( Small order execution system ) This enables me to trade lots of 2000 shares and be assured that I will get the Market price for the shares at the moment that I execute the trade. This is very important when trading on a narrow price range and trying to Short especially. If you wait to long the TICK will change and you cant short the stock anymore.

I try to wait until a large order goes through and then Short when the stock is $1 above its average trading range for the day. The recent strength in VTSS makes this stock suitable for trading however be warned that it sometimes increases for no appearent reason. I think that the MM's like to play games and fake out traders. I've been on the wrong side of a couple of trades and had to close out my position at a loss.

regards
Robert Talty
