Why does a "Next/Previous/Respond" now appear to the right of the message screen (or sometimes inside of it, overwriting part of the message)?

It is very annoying when it overwrites the message, and I see no need to have this new feature at all, as we already have Next/Previous/Respond at both the top and bottom of the message screen. (It's not that often that someone posts with a fixed font, which requires scrolling far to the right, or that someone posts a very long message, where it would be terribly inconvenient to have to scroll to the top or bottom of the screen to hit Next/Previous/Respond.)
