Bruce, thanks for your response. I looked back a couple of hundred posts and did not see any from a Tom or Shadow. I appreciate the research you have done, and the link to your previous post. I do not question whether TMMI has anything to do with ECC (as is stated in post 10109), but I do question why ECC teamed up with TMMI. I have been involved with several technology development companies, and the corporate partners we sought were always in a related industry, and were also capable of funding commercialization. The news release states that they will begin delivery in the Spring of 1999. This short time-frame indicates that the device is fully developed -- but, it still needs to be brought to market. The process of bringing a technology to market is very expensive and requires a knowledgeable partner with deep pockets. A question - who is going to fund the commercialization of ECC's device? It seems that if ECC's technology has value, a substantial partnership could have been reached whereby ECC's owners were well compensated. Issues such as online instructions are not a critical success factor of this technology, and could be handled in a variety of ways - maybe like every other component supplier handles this function. Don't get me wrong, these just seem like obvious questions.
