Realize that this is entirely IMHO - I really think that earnings at TDFX are going to be very good this coming quarter, and even better next quarter. However, I think that the street isn't quite finished beating this issue up yet. Probably about another 2-3 weeks of pain, and then the "I told you so's" begin as we start climbing back up (I hope......)

Bullish news: Riva TNT SUCKS!!! The more that comes out about that part the more it stinks up the place. By the time it's all said and done I doubt that it will even really stand up to VooDoo II, let alone beat it. And, by the time they start shipping that turkey in quantity TDFX will be ready to start sampling the VooDoo 3. Hahahaha.

Bearish news: Intel seems ready to pull every trick in the book to try to push TDFX out of the market. So why don't they just buy them already? Perhaps because of the pending government actions against them? But wouldn't those same government people look less than kindly on Intel working so hard to crush the competition in the 3-D accelerator field? (i740 for $7 in quantity as part of a Pentium II deal? They HAVE to be losing money on that one.) This move seems so anti-competitive that I simply cannot imagine the Justice department simply ignoring it. If the Justice department starts making noise about Intel's moves in the graphics arena anything can happen. (Of course, all of this doesn't change the fact the the i740 SUCKS!! As if that mattered in the long term.)
