Jim K.. Don't you know that Bill Gates started Microsoft and LVG only took the helm of the deepest talent tech company in the world when it was totally confused. That's a fair statement... IBM'ers have worked their pinstipes off getting the company back on track.

Hey, Gates should be selling every week what LVG earns every year... its only fair for the boss of bosses. After all Gates personal cut of MSFT's market cap is just about equal to IBM's total market cap... can that be true!

"The stock buying public approved of the deal then, and continues to approve, as is indicated by IBM's price rise." Don't you mean the stock buying institutions?

The earnings incentive post's point, which I though was self evident, is that the person most interested in keeping IBM's share price above $103 by any and every means... is LVG. Would he be making the same decisions on stock buybacks, on future deployment of capital and assets is he were being paid a guaranteed yearly salary of six million and ignored the stock price?
