Topic: Strategy games, rushing, StarCraft and Dark Reign.
Anybody have any thoughts about rushing, I've only made it through the Terran mission of Blizzard's StarCraft and played once online, but I can see where things are going...
Online multiplayer games are pretty cool, if you play the right people--finding the right opponent is always the trick. Next time I get on battle.net I'll have to say "Terran newbie with Red4 lag desires slow non-rushing Zerglings for extended game foreplay", hehe)
Anyway, here is the ATVI part: I found a post on usenet which refers to Dark Reign--I haven't played it, I'll cut and past the post...and thoughts would be appreciated.
*** All's not lost, Alex. You want a really good game that demands you *think*? Try Dark Reign by Activision. I kid you not, that game is a Rusher's nightmare. I've had numerous opponents try rushing on me and I clobber 'em every time. It seems to me that the designers of the game knew full well what they were doing when they wrote that baby. Defensive emplacements are just too good for rushing to even begin to work. And on the plus side, it's currently on sale for only $29.95 US!
Phaelin PS And no, I don't work at Activision. :) I just really like Dark Reign.
*** Maybe I am playing the wrong game...do you think? (I wont post a follow up message I saw, at least one person out there on usenet does not like Dark Reign much at all...) |
