I believe that one of the reasons that there are right to carry laws proposed now in states and cities that we would never have imagined - is simply to register the citizens with guns - not to promote or permit more persons to carry. Here in Texas - we were always permitted to carry handguns if we were traveling overnight or going to a place to use the firearms (range, etc.). I am told that because we now have the right to carry law on the books officially, I am not permitted to carry even when I travel unless I get the license. It also makes a nice extra source of revenue for the state. I don't want the state to register me so I now have to break their law to carry. With such a milk toast society that we are becoming I doubt that the state would have much trouble disarming the citizens. Not many would fight for their rights. Most are willing to give away their freedom (like Pat) rather than covet it. A brief stay in Bosnia or one of the many other disarmed countries might enlighten them. They laugh at statements like that and say it can't happen here. I laugh and say it already IS happening here. They were successful in firearm registration years ago (68 was it?) but the database is overwhelming. The citizens database will be much condensed and more useful. Wouldn't it be funny if their goal is to get the guns (UN Martial law?) and then there will only be the bad guys with guns. Thinking about it - maybe the bad guys aren't a threat to the government.

Let me know what you discover about the UN laws that congress subscribed to in closed session.
