FWIW, I'm trying to do a similar thing; I have a small LAN with a NT server and two win98 PC's connected. The Server, connected to Internet with ISDN, runs a Netscape Proxy which is Socks V5 compliant. I use DBC StockEdge Online but can only get it to work running on the server.

DBC's FAQ clearly states that StockEdge Online works with a "fully Socks 5 compliant server"

There is nothing wrong with my Socks server - other socks 5 compliant clients work fine with it but usually there is a setting in the client to tell it to go through the socks server.

When I asked DBC for support they basically declined it hands down "there are too many different socks 5 servers out there, we cannot give any advise how to make it work".

This is a big disappointment for me and should be considered a warning for others who might be contemplating the same thing.
