INTERNET VENTURES, INC. (NASDAQ: IVI Will start trading in July)
Post-Split Target Price: Jan. 1999 $20
This is your last chance to get shares of Internet Ventures. The company
will be closing their direct offering on June 30th. Given the recent
activity among cable modem and ISP companies such as At Home, Com21, and
Mindspring we feel that Internet Ventures is poised to have a positive
arrival on the market and that with strategic and aggressive management the
company can establish a name for themselves in the internet community. If
you are not familiar with Internet Ventures, the company is a cable modem
and dial-up internet service provider and acquirer. The company will IPO
later this year and currently is selling shares directly to the public until
June 30th, 1998 for $11 each. The stock will undergo a two-for-one split
shortly after that and then the company will be traded on the Nasdaq
exchange in July. Analysts predict the post split price of $14 to $18 per
share on the company's stock. The cable modem industry has received a
billion dollar investment by Microsoft founder Bill Gates and computer
manufacturer, Compaq, in order for the high speed internet access to be
deployed across the United States. In addition, AT&T has recently announced
the acquisition of TCI, the country's largest cable provider in order to
aggressively deploy high speed internet access across the U.S. and
worldwide. Two other cable modem companies, Broadcom, a company that makes
chips for cable modem, and At Home, a larger cable modem internet service
provider have more than doubled since their first day of trading. The
Internet Ventures network complements those of At Home and Time Warner's
Road Runner by targeting smaller cities and towns with populations of less
than 500,000.
