GM, the problem with the eps on the BigChart you linked to is that it is historical TTM, updated each quarter. In effect, it is like a moving average of quarterly eps. This makes it hard to use. You can't easily tell what the sequential eps were by looking at this chart. If you see a sequential decline in the BigChart, that only means that the quarterly eps were lower than they were in the same quarter 12 mos. earlier.

The chart you linked to might look like it has some predictive value, but I suggest that is merely an artifact of the 12-month averaging period in the eps chart just coincidentally being the same as the ~12 mo. cycle in the stock price over the same period.
