Ron, within the Japanese Keiritsu (sp?), the bank not only loan funds to the various group in the keirutsu, they also take equity positions, and these were at much higher valuations. And yes, banks there still engage in buying and selling securities for their own accounts. And yes, this is one of the reasons that the 14,000 level is guarded as if it was a "Maginot" line. Zeev
