Agreements With FastLane and CommVault Support Solutions
Initiative that Combines Products and Services

Banyan Systems Incorporated (NASDAQ:BNYN), a leading network
software and services provider, today announced that a number of
specialized applications for managing directories and enterprise
storage in multi-vendor environments will be available directly from
Banyan.
Banyan is an authorized reseller of the entire line of
FastLane(tm) Technologies Inc.'s directory management tools which
support both VINES(r) and Windows NT(r) networks, and CommVault(r)
Systems, Inc.'s storage management solutions for client/server
environments. These offerings will continue to build upon Banyan's
product portfolio and, combined with its increased number of
consulting service offerings, brings a total solution to the customer.
Additionally, these relationships give worldwide customers the
convenience of a single source for a growing variety of solutions for
heterogeneous, multi-vendor environments with the added value of
unique services and proven networking expertise from Banyan.
All of the packages support both VINES and Windows NT networks,
giving customers the assurance of a smooth integration strategy.
Banyan will offer these products through its Year 2000 Readiness
Program and its enterprise networking design services.

FastLane Products Enhance Banyan Environment

FastLane, based in Halifax, Nova Scotia, develops the FINAL
PowerTools(tm) family of products, which enhance Banyan, Windows NT,
and mixed operating system environments. FINAL PowerTools are
described by Fastlane below:

- Flyte(tm) Migration Management Tool for migrating from Banyan
VINES to Windows NT networks;
- Phoenix(tm) Domain Reconfiguration Tool for configuring an
efficient Windows NT 4.0 domain structure and preparing for Windows NT
5.0. adoption;
- Virtual Administration Tool for delegating simple, repetitive
administration tasks to non-NT administrators across enterprise
Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0 networks, allowing administrators to focus on
complex network issues and improve overall IT service; and
- FINAL(tm) (FastLane Integrated Network Application Language),
the FINAL PowerTools' core technology. FINAL is a specialized rapid
application development environment that lets administrators create
tools for managing Windows NT networks.
