Craig,

<<<If McData has been able to successfully take Brocade's intellectual property and put it on ONE ASIC, that would mean a 16-port ASIC, which would leapfrog where Ancor is today. Even if Ancor skips the 8-port ASIC, I seriously doubt that they are going beyond 16-ports on a single ASIC>>>

I think we are talking apples and oranges here. Ancor's 4-port per ASIC is hardware/switching engineering design. I'm not sure what McData is talking about here . I can't see McData take a specific Brocade engineering design and consolidated into a single ASIC. One, it's almost impossible to do. Two, if McData is that smart, they don't have to use Brocade's technology. The key is functionality and cost. Time will tell if Ancor can deliver its promise. Writing them off at this point is premature. AR has a lot of hot air. He's yanking all of our panic button and we are letting him.
