Celerity Solutions Licenses Warehouse Management Software to Image Entertainment, Inc.
WMS 4.0 system will help speed orders and shipments at Image's new 76,000 square foot Las Vegas distribution center
CONCORD, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 1998-- Celerity Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQ:CLTY; CLTYW), a leading provider of supply chain software and warehouse management systems, announced today that its Somerset Solutions subsidiary will license the WMS 4.0 Warehouse Management System to Image Entertainment, Inc. Image Entertainment, one of North America's largest licensees and distributors of laserdisc and digital video disc (DVD) programming, will use WMS 4.0 at its new state-of-the-art distribution center in Las Vegas, Nevada. WMS 4.0 is intended to give Image Entertainment an enhanced ability to respond to customer needs, offering same-day shipments and 24 hour nationwide deliveries.

WMS 4.0 has been designed to accurately track entertainment software, including laserdisc, DVD, compact disc (CD), and videocassette, as it moves throughout the distribution center. The system's standard material handling interface will control Carousel and Pick to Light systems to increase inventory accuracy and optimize space management. WMS 4.0 will utilize radio frequency and bar-code technology tools to facilitate the movement of product within the facility. The system will support customer compliance processes including labeling, gift-wrap, and special packaging and handling to meet the high demands of Image Entertainment's retail customers. WMS 4.0 also is expected to efficiently process customer returns, which represents approximately 10 percent of Image Entertainment's volume of business.
