Mark, No It was Version 6.... Version 6 has been out since the late 80's... And it was the TPC-C benchmark that I worked on. And I promise you that even then, Oracle would not provide their own benchmarks, probably because they are easily manipulated... I did however tune the hell out of it, used raw disk partitions, etc... The front end was written in 'C', using an ascii interface (for speed); The same front end was ported to the Informix App too, as well as we used the same transaction processing software (PreVue).... These were indeed acurate benchmarks, and You will probably find similar findings in any more up to date benchmarks... Remember, that just because Informix is a little faster, (or was) didn't make it better. Ernie
