Gary and all... I just spent the past 30-40 minutes in a complete re-install. I had tried to re-install the upgrade over the top of what I had, but that didn't work. I uninstalled QP, then re-installed from the CD first, then from the upgrade. All is well! Except, I neglected to uncheck the note on my data files so I have to get all that from June 10 to date. Tonight's download will be lengthy. Whatever was a problem went away and I was also able to transfer all history from the CD to my drive, as well. Now, I am half afraid to try virtual, but have to. Just wish I knew where all this came from. I suspect defrag may have moved something is shouldn't have, as Bob Jagow suggested. But, I've never had anything like this before, and I use defrag regularly. Thanks to all who offered suggestions and help. Ken
