K, Must take issue with your assertion that "this business is not growing". Storage is still a growth segment of the market and Symbios specifically exhibited good growth in standard cells: pubs.cmpnet.com according to EBN,Symbios grew their standard cell business from 330m in l996 to 400m in l997. This is a top-line gowth of 21.2%. More importantly, when LSI's 700m is added the result is the second-largest supplier of standard cells,after only Lucent. Symbios grew their standard cell business only about 1/2 as fast as LSI but 20%+ top-line is not to be called "no-growth" and on the question of value probably warrants at least 3 times gross.
