TRANSTEXAS GAS CORP. UPDATES DRILLING ACTIVITY
HOUSTON, May 27, 1998 - TransTexas Gas Corporation (NYSE: TTG) today updated the status of its drilling activities along the Texas Gulf Coast. (I deleted all non-Eagle Bay reports...)
Eagle Bay Field Status
TransTexas is completing its third well in the Eagle Bay field. The State Tract 352#1 well is expected to be flow tested in June, after completion activities are concluded. Electric logs previously indicated the presence of a total of 124 feet of net pay in four separate zones in a gross interval between 15,200 and 16,260 feet.
Onshore production facilities for the Eagle Bay field are under construction that will allow for the dehydration and treatment of up to 140,000 MMcfd of natural gas and the separation of up to 17,000 barrels per day of condensate produced from the field. The produced natural gas will subsequently be processed to extract Natural Gas Liquids (NGL) at a rate of up to 17,000 barrels per day. Full-scale production from Eagle Bay is expected to commence in July.
TransTexas Gas is engaged in the exploration, production and transmission of natural gas and oil, primarily in South Texas, including the Eagle Bay field in Galveston Bay. |
