I would assume the the SEC initially went through the report, found issues it was not clear on and decided they were serious enough that they wanted to halt the stock for a brief period for...well, it must be clarification and further investigation.
I would also, therefor, assume that if there were problems, they would ferret out all the specifics they could, and, being reasonable about it, offer GE the opportunity to explain or clarify.
This may be wrong to assume, but it seems logical to me.
In any case, there are facts, figures and extrapolations inherent in any ore body report. It is the extrapolations that need corraborating proof or explaination of conclusions which is again a possible opportunity for a difference of opinion between the SEC and GE.
I anxiously await the report and the SEC position on that report!
