Some quick comments:
0) Our dynamic real-time java-based quote service is going from alpha to beta this week, and will be released to all datek online customers later in july. We still need a great name for it.
(beta testers were selected on our own criteria - there is no signup, please dont send e-mail)
1) island priority
When you get a partial fill on an island order it is possible for you to lose priority. It is extremely unlikely that this would result in an inferior execution for you, but it will be fixed within a few weeks. With the next roll-out of the datek online order processing system, there will be no loss of priority on partial island orders.
2) better web site
Throughout July, we will be rolling out a new web site, built on better technolgy. There will be some new features that you have been asking for, as well as some of our own brewing. Better, faster quote pages, a cleaner look, more features...
The really cool thing is that the new web sites will have about 10 times the capacity, so even on the busiest of days, datek online will still be the fastest place to trade.
3) new order processing system
And why stop with a new web site? We will also be rolling out a new order processing system. This will take us from the 100,000+ execution/day system we have now, to the 10,000,000+ execution/day system we want for next october. I personally can't wait for this year's version of 27 October 1997. We developed this system for a big party: I hope everybody shows up.
The order routing engine is MUCH better too, having access to more real-time market information, and thus able to make even better decisions on how to route your order within the markets... remember, datek online is still the only online broker that routes your orders directly to the exchanges, all electronically.
