I'm sorry to disappoint you but trying to find a definitive cause for impotence is extremely expensive and generally fruitless. All diabetics are not impotent from diabetes but try and convince them it's mental even if they hav good erections in the morning. What tests are you going to do on a 50 year old male with no history of any disease and on no medications who states he cannot have an erection. When you are done tell this man he can't have treatment because you are not competant to pinpoint his specific problem. Like prostatitis which has no real physical or lab findings you treat the problem and if the patient is better take the credit. What if you do a doppler on the 50 year old previous patient and it looks like a vascular problem. The accuracy is very poor so what is the next step. You will spend thousands of dollars on ct's, arteriograms with little to show for it most of the time. Waste of time and money. If he is not a risk then give him the Viagra and see if he is better. Life will be better for the both of you.
