What about this news release:

pubs.cmpnet.com

Nokia, Ericsson and Motorola jointly develop Psion's EPOC OS for use in mobile phones.

Cirrus is a supplier (the only?) of smartphone chipsets that run the EPOC operating system, using an ARM-based processor core (UK based ARM being good friends with UK Psion). Cirrus announced a deal for Philips smartphones. Why is Philips not included in this joint venture? Can Cirrus hope to make it big in mobile phone chipsets, or is this a case of Motorola stealing away Cirrus' revenue opportunities?
