My 2c worth - removing bottlenecks is not going to be
sufficient to change the CPU demand problem.

FWIW I think software (i.e. content) is going to
become much more important than hardware.

Think about a VCR. I don't know if this is a good model,
but it is possible (indeed likely if things stay the way they
are now) that what happened to
VCRs will happen to mass-market computers.
