Jeff, calm down, okay, breathe deeply or something!!! I'm really happy when people express their feelings over here. It means they are comfortable enough somehow to be real. Since this is a world of flashing lights and colors on a screen, and very experimental, if being real comes through I think we are really accomplishing something in cyberspace.
And I think that I said in my response that I noticed you had feelings to express, and that was a positive thing about your post. I realize you were blowing off steam because you were in a very bad mood. I just didn't understand why attacking Penni's writing style needed to be part of it. She writes in a lot of different ways, and some of her posts are humorous, some are thoughtful, and I guess you could say some are gooey, if by gooey you mean the kind of writing women tend to do and respond to as well. Lots of sentiment and sometimes a little melancholy stuff mixed in with the gummi bears! I note she wasn't offended, and that's good. Some of my friends at SI, who are definitely 100% male and excellent writers themselves, think all her writing is great, and so do I. Maybe these are guys secure and sensitive enough to be in touch with their feminine sides!!!!
I think I responded a little strongly to your post because Penni has been attacked a lot over here, and I saw it and thought, oh no, now a usually really nice person is attacking her, like what is going on, anyway!!!!!
What were you REALLY blue about? You don't have to answer for sure, I'm asking somewhat rhetorically because I think feelings are difficult and painful to really look at sometimes, and instead of looking inside for what's really going on with us, we dump all the garbage on the nearest available victim. So actually this has all been a little therapeutic or something I hope, an issue to ponder for whoever reads it and identifies somehow.
Friends, Jeff???
