Steve,

I'm not so sure it's an impersonation. There is a lot of pressure out there to produce FC capitol. I think your thoughts about FC VC was right on the money. Roy has already posted what Brocade needs for the IPO. McData clearly wants a big piece of the action, bigger without Brocade's ASIC in their equipment. The information on the Yahoo Sequent thread about Brocade's switches shipping with their systems is potentially interesting - if it is true they are not shipping fabrics.

It gives me the impression it is down to the wire - even for Brocade. I maintain a lot of people want Ancor out of business or bought out. Janski, I think a buyout would slow things down and also set the stage for what many of the private FC companies want - a buyout at a premium price by a big FC vendor. After all, if you build FC switches - even 4 gig switches - what do you do for an encore? It is a very narrow window.

George D.
