Seriously, the Tech Buyer's Guide is directed to very small novelty like applications, esp since the $$$ talked about are sub $2000. The article references the Big Boys who are also in this sub arena; Corel, gets a mention, BUT THE BIG STORY ON ACTION NEWS IS,

At $1,195 the Armada Escort 50, Vcon's entry level system, actually undercuts the others on price, while offering copmarable performance. At $1,595 the Armada Cruiser offers an unusual feature; it can utilize three ISDN lines simultaneously, allowing far greater frame rates and video quality.
(Alas, it does'nt say if these "greater attributes" achieve the 30 FPS we all know and love.)
The article goes on to Apple but due to them being obsessed with making THEIR shareholders happy, have been ignoring this area, but not completely. The spin sems to be that the frame rates and overall quality will have significant input from improved software.
The article ends with an appreciative nod to the ubiquitous "QuickCam" , now available in color.
