The differences in various data base products isn't worth quibbling about. System architects can use products from Informix, Oracle, or Sybase almost interchangeably. What separates the three is marketing. In marketing, Oracle is the clear winner ... and will, in all likelihood, continue to be so. Microsoft is pouring tons of money into developing a commercial data base product. I find that interesting given Microsoft's tribulations selling to the commercial market.
