>>>Carmeli declined to offer details, but sources said work is in progress to deliver applications in conjunction with Netscape's Web publishing software, PublishingXpert, allowing billers to present invoices to customers and receive payment without necessarily going through a bill consolidator.

I don't think it is like CYCH.....ie...looks like they could either have those bills at the biller site like CYCH, or allow the biller e-mail them to a customer, or allow the biller to send the bills to a consolidator.

The entire consolidator issue I think will be consumer driven, and not biller driven. Which didn't Pete say he didn't care who did the html, NetScape is still going to need payments technology after a presentment. They are going to need to deal with a with payments company to leap-frog MSFDC, and a consolidator just to round out the service....that leaves only CKFR which can truely pay anyone...soon to be 85% electronic.

My guess is the biller would have to have PublishingXpert and the Financial Institution would have to have CommerceXpert to complete the billing loop. If that's the case it seems to me that it would be a slow go, especially for a 'green' system....but partnered with CheckFree both might benefit from the others efforts.

Wishing...could you see a PublishingXpert program always default the bill to CheckFree Integrion and leave MSFDC totally out of the consolidator loop? That would be paybacks for not having the Navigator Icon on the Windows Start Screen....and what do they say about 'paybacks' in PA?
