I don't know why someone doesn't start "The Evils of Hypsters" as a topic.
That way the hypster smashers could discuss that at their hearts content, and not change
the intent of this thread.

There are, in fact, at least five threads about hypesters, shills, and promotors. Note that's very often it's the hypesters, or their loyal victims, who complain most loudly about "bashers", while turning a blind eye to blatant rumormongering and the dissemination of disinformation on the part of their own.

So in my view the two are inextricably intertwined. It seems very strange to me how often people think it's useful to discuss only one side of an issue.
