Sun continues to look out for their customers. Giving the customer the choice of processors and hardware environments is exactly the type of thing that a MSFT would not do. This is a great move and I don't see how there are any negative issues. While some may say that this will reduce the demand for Sparc based Solaris, I disagree.

As I understand it, the current demand for the low end Sun systems is far greater then Sun's capacity to produce them. Also, when the customer needs a more powerful computer then their Intel based system, they will upgrade to Sparc.

Win/win.....that's the way I see it.
