Can it be true!!?? Briefing Com almost has a neutral piece on COMS!!

3COM CORP. (COMS) 30 9/16 CLOSED. Shares of computer networking concern are expected to be active today as management meets with Wall Street analysts and provides some information on the company's fiscal Q4. To be sure, this supplier of local area network and wide area network systems has had its share of problems, with the last nine months certainly impacted by the deteriorating market conditions in Asia, increased competition, inventory problems, and a strong dollar. Since early October, the company has seen its stock market value cut by more than half, although in the past week, investors have shown a willingness to trust that the worst about the Asian crisis and deteriorating margins are already built into the stock price. With the company meeting with analysts later today, there is some optimism that management will be able to provide some positive views about what the future holds for this once leading networking company that has fallen on hard times. Beginning with its inventory problems created when it merged with U.S. Robotics last year, the company has struggled to realign its inventory, which has caused margins and earnings to collapse. >>From Briefing Com
