Things are quiet. Everyone on vacation? Jules, great article in InfoWorld titled "Return of the Mainframe". Says exactly the opposite from what the Sequent CEO said but it gets its information and quotes from end-user customers from the Fortune 500 list. Says there will be small-server consolidations to get control of operations and not a continuing proliferation as the guys from Sequent and others would have you believe. Workload would be consolidated and controlled by mainframes keeping the networks more manageable. I tend to believe the customer who actually makes the decisions and pays the bills versus some publicity machine at Sequent or even IBM.
