K, IMO, LSI is trying to pull themselves out of a malaise by buying a good young company in a fast growing field. At this time, what else can they do? As for my thinking all the analysts like this move, from what I've read, the analysts people are going to listen to, like Kurlak and Edelstone, do like it. As for the rest, the overwhelming reaction that I've seen has been positive. I've seen one not so positive view on the Symbios buyout from a guy I've never heard of. Big deal, there is always another side. BTW, yesterday, I put up my positive comments on the deal before I saw comment #1 from ANY analyst.
On three of your negative opinions on the deal, I think I have made strong arguments against them all, in post #13301. I'm not repeating the details here, just the points. See 13301 for the details:
1. UNIX being their strong area, vs. NT. Not true...both are.
2. Disk drives being in the toilet. May be true for PCs, but not for the markets Symbios serves.
3. Large systems being in the toilet. Not true.
I haven't heard back from you anything about any of these, except you posted where the UNIX one was from. Well, it's still a wrong argument. I'm wasting my time refuting your arguments, which you don't even acknowledge.
'Nuf said. I move that this argument end because it's going nowhere. No need to respond to me. Over and out.
