The much maligned FAA has taken it on the chin from OMB and the Congress, both expressing great concern --naturally-- about the readiness of the air traffic control system administered by the FAA. In a March hearing before Congressman Horn and Congresswoman Morella's joint subcommittees, Administrator Garvey's optimistic predictions were rebuked by witnesses from both the Department of Transportation's Inspector General's office, and Congress' General Accounting Office.
