What contradictory info did you get, and did you get it from an engineer or a non-technical person? It would make no sense for any network company to use a non-compliant piece of equipment, they could buy it from over 20 manufacturers if they don't want to make it themselves. I think it would be called shooting oneself in the foot to do otherwise. Hopefully, this is all a technological misunderstanding. If not.....
