API Says U.S. Crude Oil Inventories Increased 1.834 Mln Bbls

Washington, June 30 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. crude oil inventories increased by 1.834 million barrels to 340.3 million barrels in the week ended June 26, the American Petroleum Institute said in its latest weekly report.

The latest API figures show U.S. crude oil inventories are 22.34 million barrels up compared with the same period a year ago.

U.S. gasoline inventories declined by 1.386 million barrels to 220.1 million barrels week on week, and were up 15.867 million barrels compared with the same time a year ago.

Distillate stocks, which include heating oil and diesel fuel, were up 0.362 million barrels at 131.6 million barrels compared with the previous week. Against the previous year, distillate inventories increased by 15.7 million barrels, the API said.

Residual fuel oil inventories stood at 40.1 million barrels week ended June 26, up 1.048 million barrels from the previous week. Residual fuel oil inventories were 41.2 million barrels the previous year.

Weekly imports of crude oil to the U.S. increased by 2.3 million barrels a day to 10.2 million b/d. Last year the U.S. imported 8.1 million b/d of foreign crude.

U.S. refineries operated at 98.1% of capacity, compared with 98.8% during the previous week, and 96.9% at the same time a year ago.

Total U.S. refinery capacity stood at 15.8 million b/d for the week ended June 26, unchanged from the previous week. Operable capacity was 15.6 million barrels the previous year.
