Anyone following my posts on this thread should not have been surprised to see Horton leave; e.g. #reply-4228526, #reply-4253719. This announcement enhances my theory that Racom is following a plan for restructuring it's management and maybe ownership. Leaving the last day of the quarter accentuates my theory that Racom is working off a "Plan". Just what this plan is, I do not know, but it makes Racom an interesting company to follow.

Hopefully, Racom will release more information on this restructuring soon and how they are positioning the company to make us fatter than we already are.

To follow up some other loose ends, I've been in contact with an Intag representative. The person indicated Intag's current smartcard for the Saudi passport deploys EEPROM. The reason given for this was the amount of memory required for a compressed color image was larger than that of the commercial FRAM being produced. However, as FRAM size increases, and we are probably talking 1Mb, there is no reason why a migration to FRAM could not be anticipated.

On another note, Racom considered the New Jersey Driver's license project, but did not bid on it since it was for contact smartcards. Recall, Racom's forte is in contactless smartcards.

We now have gone two quarters without a new contract announcement. Let's hope Racom will deliver a new contract in 3Q. Also, another license is expected, probably in August, but you never know when these things fall. After all, it was expected in 2Q. However, you'll have to be an early bird, get up with the sun and all that, to see it first.

Anyway, here's hoping the Hitachi license will give Racom a positive 2Q, and another license and contract will produce a positive 3Q. If these things happen, we will have smooth sailing for the next three months. Then maybe by the 4Q, we will have discovered the Plan that is driving changes in Racom.
