Howard...remember when we had a 1200bps modem??? how do you think we got to 56K modem...proprietary competition...there was no standards committee that developed the algorithms and said,,,ok here is the standard....Haris and others wanted to make faster modems and they worked in their labs, (like I do) came up with the algorithms, and implemented them.....standard came after they were implemented...DGIV may have the 56K standard if you get my analogy...
