MIKE,

VIVUS could sell out tomorrow for much more than $6.00/share.

Before the crash they wanted at least $30.00 and then broke off negotiations.

As we all know Vivus dropped from about 21 to 12 because of the production shortfall and the Asensio bogus press release.

I would have to agree with BigKNY3's assessment that Vivus has the worst management amongst the biotech stocks.

The efficacy and patient acceptance of MUSE has not changed since the begining of 1997. The Viagra hype seems to be turning into a bit of Viagra fear as of lately. Vivus does not have to comand 10% of the world market of truely impotent men to make over 25 cents per quarter. I am relying on Astra and Janssen (not Vivus) to sell MUSE effectively. I know some guys who can effectively sell any product regardless if it is good or not and MUSE is no less than OK.

I had a discussion with Astra this afternoon. Apparently they are confident that they will be able to sell MUSE effectively in their markets.

Rumor has it that Vivus is dropping the sales force and signing up with a bigger player for a cut on domestic sales.

The entire problem from day one is that Vivus wanted to do it all by itself with little or no experience in production, marketing, sales etc.. As I said before, Vivus should have stuck with the research and allowed bigger players to handle the rest. Had they done this we would be looking at a $40.00 stock today. Oh well, live and learn.
