Brian,
While this news appears favorable for China and Motorola, it ultimately means that there is $1.5B that is moving overseas where
the labor rates are cheap and environmental concerns are not
enforced. Are the US semiconductor companies going to eventually
move a large % of chip/product manufacturing out of the US at the
expense of US workers and our tax structure?? This has insidious
undertones for the future of US chip manufacturing long term.
How can US workers compete with Chinese workers making 20-25%
of US wages.
