Charles, there isn't much point in arguing the merits of owing anything, someone will always take exception. The significant issue is that gun ownership is a right we have protected by the Second Amendment and all rights must be exercised or they erode. I could argue against the value of playing golf, hate the game, but others seem to like wasting their weekend hitting a little white ball. That's their choice. Wonder how many people have been killed playing that silly game? Hit by club, ball, lightning, etc. Maybe they need club carry permits? Instant check before buying equipment? Obviously I'm being facetious, but it's impossible to convince people opposed to gun ownership. The slippery slope is that people underestimate that when they go after one right, all rights are in jeopardy. There are a number of times in history where the government would loved to have done away other amendments. We hang together or we hang alone.
