Shorty Long, Noodle, Texas be for real. It's NW of Abilene- and directly in the flight path of Dyess AFB I guess. Named after the Noodle Dome Oil Field opened up here in the 1920's. Just east of Noodle is a historical market which I stopped to read for the first time today after passing it 30 times before without stopping. Much to my surprise I discovered that in 1855-1857 US General Robert E. Lee was stationed in nearby Fort Griffin and commanded the US Second Cavalry Division, and patrolled this area to keep peace between the settlers and the Comanche and Kiowa.... My friend's name in Las Cruces is Steve H. He's an attorney and works on water law issues for the farmers and irrigation districts- does that ring a bell? He was the attorney involved in the big water law dispute between the City of El Paso and the Elephant Butte Irrigation District over water rights in southern New Mexico.... BTW our CEO just returned from a business trip to China- Let's see what transpires here with BLHG over the next two weeks....Maybe some news will folllow his return...Now docked with laptop on a payphone near Polar, Texas, and will "hole up" tonight a bit farther west near Necessity, Texas....
