Jim,

They have a very detailed investment packet. In it, there are very detailed reports from Cowen and Alex Brown. Unlike most developmental biotechs who rely primarily on continually going to the markets for more cash and diluting equity, MCDE is projected to not burn through their cash until their products go to market. My girlfriend is a nurse anesthetist, and majored in microbiology in college, so fortunately I was able to rely on her to translate some of the scientific stuff to me, as I am completely brain-dead when it comes to biology. She said their stuff looks pretty good. The four bacteria they are focusing on are the most prevalent hospital-related infections. She said that pseudomonas aeruginosa (spelling?) is a really big problem where she works, and that if anyone could treat it effectively, they'd have a big winner on their hands. She said that not only is it hard to treat, but that patients afflicted with it give off this tremendous stench from their bodies (no, I'm not making that up!).

I see you're an analyst/portfolio mgr and do a lot with biotechs. I'd be interested in seeing what you thought once you look it over. My business is primarily retail, although I was a gaming analyst for about three years with a local shop here in town.

Good Luck
