This fall will mark the end of the 3 year period after chip stocks reached their highs. It is widely known that this industry is cyclical and usually has up and down runs of 3 years or so. If this holds true then we are within a year of a major bottom in chip stocks. May have just occurred or perhaps between now and next spring but I plan to be invested about 25% to 33% by next spring/summer in chip stocks for the next 3 year cycle. Currently I am invested a little over 15% for the fall run.

BTW, the run in prices is usually between 400 and 1000% over three years. I believe that for the next run, the best investments will include system on a chip stocks such as LSI, NSM, VLSI, BRCM, CRUS and ADI. Notice that Intel is now trying to build such products because the competition is and the cost savings are so dramatic.
