i agree completely and think ive stated such about infringements on rights, massive taxation, etc. I also do believe there are some instances when a society defines certain behavior acceptable and not acceptable through a system of laws, for the interest of society as a whole. such things as a drinking age or an age to be a valid driver, i am generally ok with the fact that we have decided as a society that it is in our best interest that there are not 9 or 10 year olds out there on the road with me. again i agree totally with you that these things have gone amuck from big brother paternalism and no one finds it more offensive than me, but at the same time there are some legitimate laws set in place that transcend each individuals particular right in replace of the healthy state of our society as a whole. again, if theres someone smoking a joint inside their house, i couldnt even imagine caring less lol. but, if there are a group of my neighbors on their porch shooting up or smoking crack and my kids are playing in the front yard 30 yards away, i become extremely concerned about the situation. well, if your platform is to legalize drugs, than you will have to deal with the long and short of it, all these types of scenerios and be able to clearly not persaud me, but persaud the majority of people. ive heard some decent ideas and pretty soon here im going to give my suggestion and opinion to your cause and i think many of you will be somewhat surprised, but i think many of you will find it somewhat helpful and thought provoking. thanks again. poet. |
