If memory serves, you ran the program "ProcessMS,VMS" to create virtual files for your database. Then you renamed each one according to the first symbol in it.

I also seem to recall that this renaming gave you problems, or didn't work at all. I've run that same program so I can use WOW. Now, I need your "indexing" solution to help me find symbols without having to guess and open 5-6 to get the right one.

I know I can manually open and note the first and last for a hard copy, but am hoping you solved this with the computer doing the work.

BTW, my volume figures are also 100's, in spite of the fact that I checked 1's.
