JDN, Maybe so, but they seem to be grasping for straws here. Their older products became commodities & their margins fell. Now they are trying to buy their way back into new markets & products with acquisitions. Smart strategy? Who knows.
The stock buy-back was nothing more than a management PR campaign after reporting yet another quarter of slowing numbers. BTW, I wonder just how many shares they actually bought back?! As I said after that press release, the money could be used for better purposes like paying down debt or R&D.
As for them trying to improve shareholder value, then why is the stock trading in the $12-$13 dollar range. A significant drop from the $30's & $40's where it used to trade.
