RE: "Where can you get you data on the P/E for the S&P on the Internet?"

There are several different methods of calculating the Price/Earnings ratio. Obviously, the price is a given. However, the "earnings" in the P/E ratio may be reported as the actual total earnings over the past 12 months, the actual operating earnings over the past 12 months, the estimated total or operating earnings for the current fiscal year, etc. etc. I believe (my opinion only) that using the estimated operating earnings, excluding one-time charges, etc., is the best for market valuation assessments.

Unfortunately, I don't know of a good site on the Internet to obtain this information. Perhaps others can help.

Best wishes,

I2
