You forgot the part about Unilever's deal also being with MSFT. And, reading the Unilever release combined with the "terms not disclosed" suggests it's more market research and not big $.

Hmm. Not big $? Didn't I post this earlier, about 4 messages ago...

Financial terms were not disclosed, but the companies said that the deal marks the single largest commitment to the interactive medium by any packaged goods marketer.

Notice it said companies, not just AOL. I'm not sure what the largest commitment by a packaged goods marketer has been up to this date - but I'm sure it would have to be in the millions. If that isn't big $, then what is? As for MSFT, that really doesn't affect the deal with AOL. Seems Unilever just wants to cover all the bases.

They said they are working to build the brand, not necessarily looking for CPM metrics. That makes sense for Unilever.
